Criteria for Grant Aid

1. Aims The aim of the Trust is to fund education and training in rural and general life skills. This training will be available for people of any age and may be in any useful life skill but will emphasise agricultural, rural and countryside activities.

2. Eligibility To be eligible for Grant the Trustees will need to be satisfied that the potential beneficiaries are primarily working or living in or around the close environs of Devon.

3. Level of Grant Grants to individuals will generally not exceed £500 or 50% of the course cost (whichever is lower), but in order to support a greater number of people typical awards are around 30% of the total cost, however all awards are at the discretion of the Trustees whose decision will be final. The amounts stated above are per application.

4. Application Procedure Applications for the grant must be made prior to the commencement of the course.

5. Cost which may be considered The Trustees may consider:

  • Course fees (certification / registration / accompanying books etc.)
  • The cost of training
  • Travel and accommodation costs if it is not possible to attend a course in your area.

If your grant is approved payment will be made direct to your bank account after your course. The Trustees will require evidence of the course costs by means of invoice and a copy of the proof of payment. You will also need to provide your bank account details, if you do not have a bank account, please make this clear in your application. Please note repeated applications, for similar courses, will not necessarily be successful.
